Multiple Project Specific Sewer Improvement Projects

Park Engineering provided the City of Millbrae construction management services for this sanitary sewer improvement projects, which is part of the City-wide sewer modernization program. One project is currently under construction, and a 2nd previous project completed in 2018. The projects consist of:
Capuchino High School & Vicinity Sewer Capacity Upgrade Project
Park Engineering provided construction inspection for this $1.1M sanitary sewer replacement project near Capuchino High School. The project consisted of sectional Cured-in Place Piping (CIPP) of 6-inch and 10-inch sewer mains on Park Boulevard, replacing approximately 991 feet of existing 10-inch vitrified clay pipe with 14-inch diameter HDPE DR17 pipe on Magnolia Avenue using the pipe bursting method, replacing approximately 459 feet of existing 12-inch vitrified clay pipe with 18-inch diameter HDPE DR17 pipe on Millwood Drive, using the pipe bursting method, replacing lower laterals and installing cleanouts and/or backflow prevention devices, manholes modifications and rehabilitations, temporary traffic control, shoring and dewatering, temporary sewer flow control and bypass pumping, CCTV inspections and pipe cleaning, traffic stripes and pavement markings, removal and replacement of asphalt concrete paving, and pavement overlay.
Hillcrest Subbasin 3 Sanitary Sewer Project
This $2.8M project consists of full main line sewer replacement by primarily pipe bursting, but some open cut installation, for replacing the existing 6-inch VCP with 8-inch HDPE. Work included replacement & reconnection work of all active sewer laterals and rehabilitation of existing sanitary sewer manholes along with the roadway pavement and / or sidewalk & driveway restoration work related to the sewer improvements. Coordination with residents was necessary daily, as well as numerous business in the Downtown area, as the work occurred along Broadway and local neighborhood streets.
Madrone Subbasin 1 & 2 Sanitary Sewer Project
This $3M project consisted of full main line sewer replacement by primarily pipe bursting, but some open cut installation, for replacing the existing 6-inch VCP with 8-inch HDPE. Work included replacement & reconnection work of all active sewer laterals and rehabilitation of existing sanitary sewer manholes along with the roadway pavement and / or sidewalk & driveway restoration work related to the sewer improvements. Coordination with residents was necessary daily as the work occurred along neighborhood streets.
Park Engineering services include contract administration & documentation, cost controls & preparation of contract change orders, quality assurance of contractor’s work, preparation of daily diaries, field calculations & assisting with monthly pay estimates, contract administration, office engineering, photo documentation, overseeing traffic control, ADA compliance, access to businesses & private residences, SWPPP and regulatory permit compliance.
